Frost & Sullivan Awards 2017 Radiography Product Strategic Leadership Award to Shimadzu Corporation

Torrance, CA — August 9, 2017 – Shimadzu Corporation is the recipient of the Frost & Sullivan 2017 Global General Radiography Product Line Strategy Leadership Award.

Frost & Sullivan, a global market research, and consulting company, has awarded Shimadzu Corporation the 2017 Global General Radiography Product Line Strategy Leadership Award, one of the research company’s prestigious Best Practices Awards. Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the diagnostic imaging company that has introduced products and services representing the highest leadership in the global market for diagnostic X-ray systems in 2016 and employs the best strategies for success. The award recognizes the innovations, versatility, and extent to which Shimadzu’s radiography product line meets customer needs, the overall impact Shimadzu has in terms of providing value, and its increased market share.

In its announcement of the award, Frost & Sullivan stated that Shimadzu Corporation’s continuous innovations and upgrades to its radiography product portfolio in 2016 ensure that its radiography products stay relevant and in high demand in an evolving and highly competitive market. The radiography product strategy leadership award also recognizes the record of excellence in service and the dedication Shimadzu provides to its customers throughout the world.

The innovative technologies and products introduced by Shimadzu Corporation in 2016 that Frost & Sullivan stated merited the award include:

• the RADspeed Pro EDGE package general radiography system – a high-performance, general radiography system incorporating cutting-edge applications that include tomosynthesis combining cone-beam CT reconstruction with digital image processing, speed stitch technology, T-smart a proprietary metal artifact reduction technology, and dual energy subtraction. Digital, multi-slice tomography with flexible positioning to offer a view of oblique cross sections of the spine and hip joints was added to the system’s capability in 2016.

Compared to competitive systems, Frost & Sullivan states that this mobile system incorporates a large LCD monitor that increases brightness up to 40% and energy-savings functionality that utilizes as much as 80% less electricity.
  • the SONIALVISION G4 multi-functional universal R/F system – a radiographic/fluoroscopy designed for interdepartmental shared services that is capable of a wide range of examinations. It offers field of view (FOV) flat panel detector (FPD) available in five sizes and provides an extensive imaging area, ultra-high definition and dynamic images, less radiation exposure, and an optimal ceiling-mounted telescopic arm, as well as a wall stand with a portable FPD.
